Jessi attended Carroll College in Helena, MT, and after graduating with a BS in Environmental Science, she began her career as a Water Quality Specialist for the Montana Department of Environmental Quality. Her time sampling the rivers and streams of western Montana cemented her love for both working outdoors and pursuit of a career in environmental management. She spent several years working for a number of different organizations, from small consulting firms and a Washington port to a large electric utility line contractor, before taking the plunge to start Wildwood Environmental.
